Birth, Death, Marriage Certificates
A South Australia change of name certificate is usually needed when you want to prove your identity for things like passports and claiming government benefits after you've registered a change of name. Certificates can be obtained online.
Australian Certificates of no Impediment to Marriage can be obtained from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. At least one person applying for the CNI must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
The application form must be signed by an authorised witness. This could be a Justice of the Peace in Australia or a consular official at an Australian High Commission or Embassy
Proof of divorce in Australia can be obtained from the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. An official document will be provided that serves as proof that a divorce was granted and finalised.
Apply for a birth, marriage or death certificate
Births, Deaths and Marriages registers and maintains Tasmanian birth, death, marriage, relationship and change of name records. It also issues certificates and provides information to approved applicants.
The Registry creates and preserves records of Western Australian births, deaths, marriages and changes of name. Eligible customers are able to apply for certificates from these records to be used for a range of legal, personal and historical purposes.
If you're going overseas to get married, you may need an Australian Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage (CNI) proving that you're free to marry. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) can issue CNIs. To apply for a CNI, you and your partner need to provide supporting documentation. At least one person applying for the CNI must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

Corporate documents
Australian certificates of company registration, as well as current and historical company extracts, can be obtained online from the Australian Securities & Investments Commission. For authentication with an Apostille Stamp, paper certified copies must be ordered (these are sent by mail).
Criminal Record Certificates
Victoria Police provides a service to all Victorians who wish to obtain a National Police Certificate for employment, voluntary work and occupation-related licensing or registration purposes.
A National Police Certificate (NPC) contains a list of a person’s disclosable court outcomes and pending charges from all Australian police jurisdictions. This includes traffic and non-police prosecuted matters.
The AFP provides National Police Checks. Applications may be made online where the applicant resides overseas or for purposes of overseas employment and foreign visa applications.
The NSW Police Force allows applications from NSW residents aged 14 years and above to apply for a National Police Check for visa, adoption, employment
A National Police Certificate (NPC) conducted by the Queensland Police Service (QPS) is based on a search of the person’s name against the criminal history records held by police services Australia-wide
A police record check provides a summary of your offender history in Australia.
Tasmania Police provides a consent based Police Record Check enquiry service for residents of, or employees based in, Tasmania. The Record Check is used primarily for the purpose of employment, occupation-related licensing, registration, voluntary work or personal information.

Obtain an Australian citizenship certificate to prove that you are an Australian citizen.
To obtain a driving licence history certificate, required to exchange an Australian driver licence for an overseas licence, contact the relevant State or Territory Driver Licensing Authority. Advise the authority that the certificate will be used to exchange your Australian driver licence for a foreign licence and should therefore include a valid seal or signature recognised by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
