### Can foreign documents required for submission to Vietnam be authenticated with an Apostille?
No - Vietnam is not a member of the Apostille Convention and will not therefore recognise Apostille Stamps issued by other countries. To legalize a document for use in Vietnam, it must be legalized by the issuing country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then by the accredited Vietnamese embassy or consulate.


### What is Vietnamese embassy document attestation?
Document attestation by Vietnamese embassies is a procedure to legalize foreign documents that are required for submission to authorities in Vietnam or in support of Vietnamese visa or citizenship applications. Normally the document must be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country before being submitted to the embassy for attestation. A certified translation may also be required.
Since Vietnam is a not member of the Apostille Convention, an Apostille Stamps will not be accepted directly in Vietnam.
